Widgets
Widgets are little programs that run in something called Dashboard, a feature of Apple’s Mac OS X 10.4 Tiger and later. If you’re using Tiger (or a later version of Mac OS X), you can use Widgets! The Dashboard is available by clicking the Dashboard icon in the Dock, or (on most Macs) pressing F12.
Installing widgets: Click the link to download the widget. If you’re using Safari, it will unzip and install automatically. If you’re using another browser, unzip the file after it downloads, and put it in either ~/Library/Widgets or /Library/Widgets. Then, show Dashboard and add it.
