Tux CMS
Feature-rich and easy-to-use, Tux CMS is a PHP-based blogging engine that draws on the best web concepts and brings them all together into one place. Tux CMS is standards-centric, putting emphasis on good web practice, and implementing all of the latest standards where appropriate. Want an example of it? You’re looking at one! Since December 2005, mattpat.net has been powered by Tux CMS (well, even longer… but December is when I started working on it in its current form).
TuneConnect
TuneConnect is a powerful AppleScript Studio-powered application designed to control iTunes from a remote computer over any local network (and if you work really hard at it, even over the Internet). Featuring a built-in track browser, ratings control, visualizations control, a complete iTunes equalizer control, automatic updating and notifications via Growl, TuneConnect is one open source app that’s sure to please.
Classy
Classy is a web application designed using PHP and (Ajax-style) JavaScript that allows you to extract classes and IDs from any given web page. Why would you want to do this? Because at least personally, I always forget what IDs and classes I used, and what I assigned them to. This makes an easy, auto-generated list available at your disposal. Further, there’s a link that you can drag to your toolbar which allows you to quickly analyze the site you’re currently visiting. Designing websites just got a whole lot easier. ![]()
Tux Desk
This one’s quite special.
Tux Desk is an online widget system, inspired by mooglets. By simply installing a few JavaScripts and PHP files, a webmaster can easily Tux Desk-ify their site. Widgets are stored on their creators’ websites, and accessed on-the-fly by the script (you can add any widget just by giving it the widget’s URL), so there’s no extra software to install to enable extra widgets. This is how web widgets should be done!
