Advocacy

The world is full of organizations and programs that help to make life better. Some of those are so innovative or outstanding that they deserve special mention. Any time I come across one of those, you’ll hear about it here!

(PRODUCT)RED

(PRODUCT)RED is an organization, co-founded by U2’s Bono, dedicated to improving the AIDS crisis in Africa. Through an alliance including The GAP, Converse, Emporio Armani, Motorola, American Express, and Apple, (PRODUCT)RED is manufacturing red versions of some of their most popular products or clothing (for example, red iPods, the red Motorola RAZR, red sweatshirts, etc.). The project is definitely worthy of support.

Firefox

Firefox is the world’s most advanced web browser. It offers features such as tabbed browsing, ActiveX blocking, pop-up blocking, and full standards compliance, along with being one of the fastest and most powerful browsers available. Interested? Check it out!

Web 2.0

Web 2.0 is the move in the digital world from “what’s the data?” to “how does the data connect?” It’s all about showing relationships among a user-centric web, rather than just getting information from a business-centric network. It’s about semantics, standards, blogging, syndication, and open information sharing. And most importantly… it’s about fancy JavaScript effects.
