Marketing TuneConnect
Just yesterday, TuneConnect 2 Beta 1 was released to my loyal and wonderful beta testers. It was indeed an exciting moment.

With the release on OS X just a little over a month away, it’s time to start some serious marketing. Word on the street is (
) that the best way to market is by word on the street.
That is, get the Mac bloggers talking—get anyone talking, for that mater. The more people get excited about a product, the more people will want to find out more. I’ve sent emails to all of the major Mac blogs (complete with beta access
), and I’m even talking it up with a couple of big names in the industry.
I still need help though, and I’m counting on you. If you’re reading this, and use a Mac, let me know, and I’ll let you try out TuneConnect. If you like it, talk it up! That’s the only way it can really become popular.
February 2nd, 2008 at 10:05pm Matt, congrats! I know you've been working hard on this for awhile, I'm glad you finished it! yayyyy
February 2nd, 2008 at 10:15pm This is one helluva product Matt. I still think you should charge for it...seriously
February 4th, 2008 at 4:52pm Awesome. I don't has (have, i know i know) a Mac but that's cool.
February 4th, 2008 at 5:42pm I agree with Brendan... you should charge for it! I know, I know, you're too kind not to do that.
Anyway, congrats and good luck getting the word out
February 9th, 2008 at 4:04pm I am using TuneConnect for the first day and am so thankful for it. Great to be able to use my server as a music box. And it is so responsive. Wow!
Now one thing would be utterly nice to have: AppleScript support. Or is there some? I don't know much about scripting, but I was wishing to have system-wide keyboard shortcuts for playing, pausing, skipping and volume control, so I implemented a short GUI script in Spark. It works and makes TuneConnect even cooler, but it does not work in the background which would simply thrill me if it was possible with TuneConnect 2.
Oh yeah, I would beta test if you let me...
Best regards from Germany,
Alexander
February 14th, 2008 at 4:09pm Nice program! I just came to the TuneConnect party, like Alexander.
I was going to write how much I love this program, but I was interrupted by a phone call. Instead of getting, up going to the computer in the other room, hitting pause and taking the call, I went from Firefox to TuneConnect, hit pause, took the call without ever getting up.
I'm in love with this program! And I think I will love it more when V.2 comes out. The interface looks great. My hopes would be the choice of all the columns available in iTunes (since I add music daily, I sort by "date added"), the ability to go to the song playing by the little arrow in the song display area and menu bar shortcuts.
That would the icing on an already great dessert. My dream will be to have your program living on a ModBook...

I plan on doing my part to get the word out by posting on my blog. Thanks again for creating the program I know so many will put to use.
June 16th, 2008 at 8:28pm Ok, I don't wanna be a nob, but I don't get how to use this? So I am sitting at my computer with iTunes running... ok, don't need it there. I have my iTunes playing and am sitting on the couch with either my MacBook or my ipod Touch... now what do I do?
I guess I would like a use case with examples of how this app solves problems so I can create them to use it.. : ]
Thanks,
C
